StockX made its presence felt during NBA All-Star Weekend with its stylish exhibition ‘‘To the Game, Love Chicago,” realized in collaboration with StockX investor and Just Don namesake Don C. On Feb. 13, 2020, the haute online marketplace invited tastemakers to a sneak peek of the immersive space—located behind RSVP Gallery’s Damen Ave. storefront—which showcased the set of specially commissioned, limited-edition collabs between a trio of Windy City luminaries and a roster of talented creators: musician Vic Mensa and designer Melody Ehsani (teaming up for a “Chi Town Champs” crewneck); Easy Otabor of Inifinte Archives and Angelo Baque of Awake (partnering on the “1988” t-shirt); and artist Hebru Brantley and Union’s Chris Gibbs (creating the “Son of Garvey” hoodie). Pieces were complemented by a gallery-style showcase of rare finds, garments and more from the personal collections of the participating creators.
Imbibing specialty Patrón cocktails, partygoers also got the first glimpse of one-of-a-kind pieces of luggage from RIMOWA, each one packed with items from the archives of the assembled talent. The best part: proceeds from the luggage sales and collaboration pieces, available on StockX, benefitted Common Ground Foundation. “We loved what Common Ground represents, in terms of helping underserved youth,” enthused StockX Chief Marketing Officer Deena Bahri, also noting, “We’re about this convergence of sport and culture and fashion—All-Star Weekend is the perfect representation of that.”
