In an age of fly-by-night fashion startups, it’s refreshing to encounter a label with true staying power. Enter Lana Jewelry, the brainchild of Glencoe resident and “Queen of Hoops” Lana Bramlette. The A-list-fave line counts Madonna, Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez and Rihanna as fans of its sexy, sophisticated earrings, necklaces and bracelets, which are carried in Bergdorf’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks and more. Things only get hotter for the brand this fall, as it continues its 20th anniversary celebration with the Sept. 6 drop of the TWENTY Vol. 2 collection along with the launch of bridal and men’s lines in addition to its continuing kids/teen line, Lana Girl, designed by Lana’s daughter Blake. Oh, and did we mention the whole operation is set to move its HQ to the North Shore, with an area flagship in the works? Amid all the action, we caught up with Bramlette to talk clients, must-have pieces and the advice she’d give her younger self.

What keeps you inspired and motivated after two decades in the biz?
One answer: my clients! Their cultlike following and passion for our brand is unmatched. They motivate me to keep going.
What’s the must-have piece from your new collection for fall?
Our ear stacking earrings. We are known for our hoops, so now we are going to dress the entire ear… from cuff s to double chain delicate earrings, and diamond dangling hoops that make everyone want more ear piercings to pile on. The ear is the star of the fall collection.
Who would be a dream client you’d love to add to your VIP roster?
This is a hard question to answer because we have been outfitting some of the most amazing women in the world with our pieces—if they are known by their first name, they definitely are wearing Lana Jewelry. Someone I have dreamt of wearing Lana Jewelry is Ruth Bader Ginsburg; I don’t believe anyone has come close to her superiority.

What do you think makes a North Shore woman an ideal “Lana babe”?
A woman living here on the North Shore is well-versed, educated and loyal. She loves the finer things in life and respects quality and is not about trends and influence. She likes what she likes because she decided that. Lana babes are also very loyal to our brand.
What advice would you give to your younger self if you could go back 20 years?
Relax, breathe and sit in each moment to truly enjoy it.
