WHO
Captain, Oak Brook Polo; founder, James Drury Partners

HOME ’HOOD
“Barrington Hills. It’s one of America’s most unique communities, zoned strictly residential with minimum 5-acre properties, and heavily wooded with lakes, nature preserves and forest preserves. We also enjoy the companionship of eight of my retired polo ponies, living a life of leisure on our home/farm.”

GO-TO SPOT
“You can’t beat the fun and camaraderie of Gibson’s Bar & Steakhouse (2105 Spring Road, Oak Brook, 630.954.0000) after a polo match. For more intimate social occasions with friends, we love D&J Bistro (466 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich, 847.438.8001), for its comfortable, cafe-style atmosphere. You won’t find better French fare in Paris.”

SUMMER PLANS
“Long weekends and a fun-filled vacation at Stagshead, our lake house in Wisconsin’s Northwoods.”

CURRENT OBSESSION
“Physical fitness, to play polo with confidence and keep up with my younger Argentine teammates on the field. But also to have the energy to rise at 4AM each morning, and hit the office at 6 to manage James Drury Partners, a growing business founded in 2001, providing governance counsel to America’s corporate boards.”
