We are living in unprecedented fashion times—I mean, seriously, did any of us ever imagine a time when simply not wearing sweatpants would count as dressing up? Regardless, true fashionistas know that even a casual aesthetic can be amped up to make a stylish impact. Case in point: Chicago fashion maven Ikram Goldman, who is finding the most creative of ways to elevate her clients’ casual game. Her latest favorite find? Footwear from Danish label Magnafied, a collection of sandals, clogs and lace-ups that are as eye-catching as they are relaxed. “These are only the most comfortable shoes in the universe,” enthuses Goldman of the line, which she discovered at a showroom in Europe. “We’ve turned this corner of very casual wardrobes from 2020 into 2021, and one way to up your game is to have really great shoes that are designed with quality fabrics and fun prints and colors that set them apart from other casual shoes. I find them to be a really easy daytime summer shoe.” Even better, says Goldman, they can be dressed up for a special summer occasion. “We’ve gone as far as embellishing the shoes in our store; we had a client who was going to a black-tie wedding in a backyard and didn’t want to be in a heel, so we embroidered a black and white pair for her, and they were just beautiful.” In short, says Goldman, Magnafied is a must-wear for warm weather and beyond. “I have been living in these shoes,” she sums up. “Living in them.” 15 E.
