When the mercury climbs, fashion all too often gets put on hold in favor of cooler, much more casual attire— but not for Chicago style guru Ikram Goldman, who is always on the hunt for pieces that elevate the season’s low-key aesthetic. The boutique owner’s top pick for summer ’19? Péro, a label based in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan featuring textiles and dresses by Aneeth Arora.
“These are exquisite pieces, with handembroidered, beautifully flowy fabrics in gorgeous muted colors and burlaps,” says Goldman. “The collection is made to perfection—designed and manufactured in India but produced and watched over by an Italian family. The fit is excellent, with a fun, urban chic but very hobo-style look. I cannot even begin to tell you how great these pieces work for everybody.”
Key to the line’s success, says Goldman, is its easy wearability on even the hottest days. “You think of summer clothes and you think of T-shirts and lightweight linens and things like that.
