The Orchard Private Residences joins Lincoln Park’s luxury residential offerings. The seven-story building is a knockout from the jump, with shopping, dining, green space and a new “town square,” thanks to the site’s redevelopment. “We created The Orchard to offer the most high-design homes in Chicago,” says lead developer and McCaffery CEO Dan McCaffery. “We were able to take the sought-after luxuries of downtown high-rise living and meld them into an intimate 32-home building that’s right in the heart of one of the best neighborhoods in the country.”
With two- and three-bedroom residences and four-bedroom penthouses available, the intelligently planned homes provide a wealth of living space. “The Orchard Private Residences were designed to live like big family homes,” says Shea Soucie, principal of interior design firm Soucie Horner Ltd. “They feature gracious floor plans, spacious outdoor terraces and kitchens large enough to gather your entire extended family for Sunday dinner.” Of note are the wide-plank oak hardwoods; spalike primary suites with free-standing Waterworks tubs; Christopher Peacock kitchen cabinetry; and Sub-Zero, Wolf and
Cove appliances.
The outdoor space is equally impressive. “Buyers are looking for homes with more space and private outdoor access,” notes Jameson Sotheby’s International Realty broker Cadey O’Leary. “Every home at The Orchard features a roomy private [heated] balcony, with some spanning over 400 square feet.” An expansive community rooftop terrace designed by Wolff Landscape Architecture, a state-of-the-art fitness center and a 24-hour concierge are just the cherries on top. Two-bedroom residences from the mid-$1 millions, three-bedroom residences from the $2 millions, four-bedroom penthouses prices upon request, 2350 N. Orchard St.
“We wanted to make sure that our building fit the area, so we looked to the neighborhood’s iconic brownstones for inspiration,” says Mike Haney, developer and Newcastle Limited CEO, of Gild’s exterior.
The Gold Coast’s latest buzzed-about development has officially broken ground. Future home of 12-story upscale apartment building Gild and a host of ground-level retail sites, this development is the talk of the town—with the soon-to-come rentals garnering much attention.
Set to deliver in early 2022, the CallisonRTKL-designed building will encompass studio, one- and two-bedroom units with high-end design touches, luxury finishes and many will boast private balconies or terraces. “I lived in the Gold Coast for years. It is one of the best locations in the city—close to the lakefront, Lincoln Park, Oak Street and Michigan Avenue. It’s in the center of it all,” says developer and CEO of Newcastle Limited Mike Haney.
And the amenities here are primo: two outdoor gathering areas, a private clubroom, a fitness center, and a dog run and pet space. Given the current state of public health, wellness was top of mind when concepting Gild, with touchless entry, bipolar ionization filtering, HVAC modifications and eventual Fitwel Certification, which employs scientific strategies to optimize health within buildings. Preliminary rents $1,960-$5,865 per month, 1210 N. State Parkway
