Givenchy is stepping out with a fresh new style. Meet the GIV1 TR; a high-performance, unisex sneaker that’ll turn heads and keep you light in the streets.
Released as part of the Spring 2022 pre-collection, the luxury French fashion house’s latest footwear is immediately intriguing. The GIV1 style was originally debuted by Creative Director Matthew M. Williams during Givenchy’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection.
Formed for function as well as beauty, the GIV1 TR takes design up a notch with a mix of mesh and leather, available in high-top and low-top styles.

The new GIV1 TR comes in a range of color choices including cloud gre, graphite, steel blue, and black to light grey with hints of yellow. What really sets the tone, however, is the use of heavily-geometric patterns and cut-aways.
The look creates a statement, and the mesh cut-aways result in a breathable shoe. It’s a bold look that is all at once futuristic and nostalgic. We’re particularly fond of the high-top looks.
A select few shoes were given an extra style refresh from street artist Chito who spray-paints his 4G motif on a white, all-leather look. He also airbrushes his signature on an a black leather style with white contouring.
Chito’s work is continued throughout the looks of the entire Spring 2022 pre-collection, from tops to dresses, bags, bottoms and more. The GIV1 TR matches this urban feel with striking style.
“In my collections, I always speak to lived reality,” Williams says in a quote about the collection on Givenchy’s website. “For Spring 2022, our first pre-collection runway show, I wanted to bring together my American roots and my brand new life in Paris. There's an energy of striking out for a new adventure, of drawing on something familiar yet creating something completely new. Chito made an ideal collaborator because we share that storyline; we speak the same language.”
