The move marked not only the beginning of a new chapter for Mackie but also a massive milestone for female builders and entrepreneurs. “I look forward to showing the world what a home designed and built by a woman looks like,” she says. Now, she’s gearing up to debut The Art of Living Show House on the North Shore.

Mackie champions women in the field, and her latest endeavor just might be her most powerful project yet. In September, Mackie and Inspired Luxury Homes will open the doors to a luxe show home, nestled in the heart of Wilmette, where The Art of Living Show House event, focused on elevating female artisans, designers and architects, will take place. The experience will showcase a stellar slate of local and national designers, vendors and partners, including Oscar Isberian Rugs, Mason & Brass and Ligne Roset, just to name a few. Visitors can peruse and purchase items via QR code while being wined and dined in the luxe space, which promotes exploration and prioritizes functionality.

“This is an ideas home,” Mackie says. “[You can] educate yourself about the possibilities in the marketplace, and how technology plays a role in making your life easier. That’s why we named it The Art of Living.” Mid-September through mid-October, 1760 Washington Ave., Wilmette
