For the first Dior boutique founded in 1947, Christian Dior personally selected seats for his fashion shows that were “sober, simple and, above all, classic and Parisian,” as he recounted in his memoirs. An elegant oval topped with the Fontanges bow became an iconic symbol of 30 Avenue Montaigne, as did the Louis XVI-style Medallion chairs clad in cannage and Toile de Jouy. Now, the house’s iconic seat is newly reimagined by the leading creative visionaries of today in a way that captures the same sophisticated spirit.
