The Gold Coast. “I used to live at 1250, 1221 and 1133 N. Dearborn St. in my 20s. The area is still so vibrant, and I love to sit outside and grab a bite at Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse(1028 N. Rush St.) or Maple & Ash(8 W. Maple St.). I love to walk the streets and look at the magnificent houses on Astor, Goethe and Schiller and enjoy shopping on Rush, Oak, and Walton as well.”
GO-TO SPOT
“Tough question as I love food and atmosphere equally, and there are so many great options depending on what you are in the mood to eat. Bavette’s Bar & Boeuf(218 W. Kinzie St.) for steak, Gibsons Italia(233 N. Canal St.) for pasta, Andros Taverna(2542 N. Milwaukee Ave.) for Greek, Miru (401 E. Wacker Drive, 11th floor) for sushi, Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab(60 E. Grand Ave.) for crab legs, Chicago Cut Steakhouse(300 N. LaSalle Drive) for Lobstercargot, S.K.Y.(1239 W. 18th St.) for an amazing meal in an undiscovered neighborhood (Pilsen) and Epic Burger (naturally) for a tasty burger, fry and milkshake.”
LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST
“After long, cold winters, we Chicagoans are rewarded with spring baseball and outdoor concerts. I am a huge Cubs fan and there’s nothing better than an afternoon at Wrigley Field(1060 W. Addison St.). Well, possibly a warm summer night at Wrigley. Of course, there’s Ravinia(201 Ravinia Park Road, Highland Park), Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island(1300 S. Linn White Drive), Soldier Field(1410 S. Museum Campus Drive) and The Salt Shed(1357 N. Elson Ave.) for listening to a concert, too.”
CURRENT OBSESSION
“One good thing that came from COVID is Chicago’s use of outdoor spaces. I love to sit on outdoor patios and rooftops, enjoy a coffee, juice, smoothie or adult beverage and get caught up on some work and people-watching. The fresh air and rooftop views help me focus and allow me to be productive even if I’m far from an Epic Burger.”
