The Chicago Symphony Orchestra rolled out the red carpet for its grand Symphony Ball. After a Champagne toast, pianist Yefim Bronfman and honored guest and music director Riccardo Muti each took the stage at the grand Symphony Center. The evening ended with a post-concert gala at the Four Seasons Hotel, where nearly 350 guests indulged in cocktails, dinner and dancing.
Muti was honored for his 12 years of collaboration with the company. Chicago Symphony Orchestra Women’s Board member Dora Aalbregtse and her husband, Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association trustee John Aalbregtse, served as the chairs of the event.
Guests were dressed to the nines, matching the venue’s elaborate decor and dazzling chandeliers. The Four Seasons Hotel served a delectable Italian-inspired dinner, as Louis Latour’s Mâcon-Lugny Les Genievres and Red Banfi Chianti Classico were poured throughout the four-course meal. The event raised over $1.1 million in support of Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association’s artistic, educational and community engagement programs.
