The Chicago Cubs faithful return to Wrigley Field in hopes of another dream season.
In the heart of Lakeview, Wrigley Field is one of the most beloved and historic ballparks in all of baseball.
It’s been less than six years since the Chicago Cubs triumphantly broke the team’s century-old curse and finally brought the World Series trophy back home. But after five ensuing seasons of less-than-stellar results—capped by last summer’s offloading of 2016 heroes Kyle Schwarber, Javier Báez, Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo—Chicago fans are impatient to see their beloved boys in blue get back to their winning ways. And here’s the thing: It might just happen. Veteran pitcher Kyle Hendricks will be joined by highly touted acquisition Marcus Stroman, and the rest of the team is bolstered by the bats of David Bote, Ian Happ, Willson Contreras and Jason Heyward. Could this be the year the team gets back in the winner’s circle? We’ll see, and a delayed start to spring training has only added to the drama. Regardless, it makes for a compelling reason to return to the Friendly Confines once more. Wrigley Field, 1060 W. Addison St., mlb.com/cubs
