Neiman Marcus has announced the launch of an exclusive new collection by Brunello Cucinelli, Shaped by Culture. Last year, the designer was awarded the Neiman Marcus Award for Distinguished Service in the Field of Fashion, and his partnership with the integrated luxury retailer has only strengthened since, with Shaped by Culture continuing a long legacy of seasonal exclusives.
The collection features 50 exclusive styles across men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, and shoes. An ode to dressing for cultural events, the collection is exemplary of the care and attention that goes into creating a masterpiece crafted to last. The pieces are a sartorial reflection of the works of cultural significance and are perfect for aesthetes and patrons of the arts.
In its ease and elegance, Shaped by Culture is also reminiscent of the Italian countryside, a place close to the designer’s heart. The company’s headquarters are in Solomeo, an Italian hamlet he has invested in and helped to restore. His dual roles as designer and preservationist interact in Shaped by Culture, representing the intersection of his reverence for culture and heritage techniques with his keen eye for the needs of a contemporary individual.
“Brunello Cucinelli has been a loyal brand partner for over 20 years, his exquisite and timeless craftsmanship has made a lasting impact on the fashion industry,” said Lana Todorovich, Chief Merchandising Officer, Neiman Marcus. “We are excited to continue to partner with him to deliver collections exclusively for our customers each season. Shaped by Culture is an elegant expression of the brand inspired by art culture which will activate in museums accompanied by orchestra performances, bringing the collaboration to life for our customers in an unexpected and unique way.”
The women’s offering fuses the Brunello Cucinelli brand DNA with contemporary details like metallic leathers, paillette knits, and sheer organza. The collection comprises reinvented wardrobe staples, allowing the wearer to transition from the office to an evening event easily. Highlights from the women’s selection include four new shoe styles, designed in a lux combination of metallic pearl leather, matching suede and the brand’s signature monili details. An iridescent suede bomber is another standout, while garments with a newly developed sequin stripe technique are sure to find their way onto the wishlists of Cucinelli aficionados.
For the men’s collection, inspiration was drawn from the Italian coastline and the Adriatic Sea, pairing rich blues with timeless neutrals for a palette that conveys a refined elegance without stifling a carefree summer attitude. Indigo denim is elevated from its roots in workwear to new heights through an expertly tailored shirt and pant set. Suits in cream and navy find ease in light summer fabrics, while a printed pochette and neutral shoes complete the perfect look for any summer event.
Neiman Marcus and Brunello Cucinelli have a decades-long partnership. The integrated luxury retailer’s customer base has many loyal Cucinelli collectors, and their long-standing partnership brings new opportunities for these customers to engage with the brand. Following his Neiman Marcus Award last year, Brunello Cucinelli created two exclusive collections, Icon and Hollywood Glamour, for Neiman Marcus as part of a year-long celebration.
As part of the integrated luxury retailer’s ‘Retail-tainment’ strategy, Neiman’s will host events in select top markets for highly engaged Brunello Cucinelli customers. To parallel the inspiration behind the collection, events will take place at high-profile beacons of the art world, allowing clients to further engage with the clothing in its intended context. Brunello Cucinelli brand ambassadors will also be present to guide customers through the collection and help with styling and fit.
Shaped by Culture is available now in select Neiman Marcus doors, online and through remote selling channels. Interested customers are encouraged to reach out to their style advisor or get connected with one through Neiman’s style advisor quiz.
