Luxury travel destination the Waldorf Astoria Chicago is debuting its first tea service, Hope Tea, hosted in partnership with the Chicago-based Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation, which has raised over $45 million in support of breast cancer research initiatives, educational programming and innovative treatments since its establishment in 1985 by a local family. The pink-themed afternoon tea takes place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the foundation. Held in the Peacock Lounge, the event features a pink tea from Chicago Teahouse, a glass of La Fete Cotes de Provence Rosé or a spirit-free beverage, plus scones, tea bread, tea sandwiches, pastries and more. Mexican dining destination Bodega Taqueria y Tequila is honoring Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a 22-ounce frozen margarita served in a pink stadium cup for October to support breast cancer awareness initiatives. A portion of the total sales is being donated to the Dolphins Challenge Cancer (DCC), a Miami Dolphins initiative that raises crucial funding for cancer research.

On Oct. 24, the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation is hosting “An Evening of Hope in Our Fight Against Breast Cancer” from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Theater on The Lake. Proceeds from the event support early-career doctors and innovative treatments for those fighting breast cancer. The Chicago Breast Cancer Research Consortium was also assembled by the foundation, which runs breast cancer trials simultaneously at three Chicago-based hospital systems. The evening’s honoree is Dr. Olusimbo (Simbo) Ige, a Chicago Department of Public Health commissioner who oversees partnerships with health organizations worldwide and has dedicated her career to promoting accountability and equity in the public health and healthcare systems. Bar and restaurant Old Town Pour House is supporting the Lynn Sage Breast Cancer Foundation throughout October by offering guests the chance to round up their purchase to the nearest dollar, with 100% of the additional funds donated to the organization. Bottleneck Management has also partnered with local community groups, including nonprofits like the American Cancer Society, schools and animal shelters on Chow Down for Charity, an initiative that allows organizations to pick a date, invite supporters to visit a participating restaurant and receive 20% of the total event proceeds. Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants’ River North dining establishment RPM Steak is known for its tasty pasta, steak and seafood dishes, from the Makoto A5 wagyu ribeye to the signature ember-roasted seafood tower. Throughout October, the restaurant is donating $1 from every order of Martha M’s specialty occasion carrot cake to The Pink Agenda, a nonprofit organization that raises funding and awareness for breast cancer research and care. Lincoln Park medspa Shot Bar has teamed up with the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer (MSABC) initiative to host the Pink Party. Held on Oct. 17, the event features light bites, beverages and a raffle with the chance to win offerings like a laser hair removal package, a Hollywood Glow Peel laser treatment, a Russian manicure, a lash lift and tint and more. In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants’ Japanese-inspired eatery Sushi-san is debuting a pink limited-edition “SUSHI” cotton crewneck. Fifteen dollars of the proceeds per sale are being donated to The Pink Agenda nonprofit, which strives to improve the lives of those affected by breast cancer. Both the Lincoln Park and Streeterville locations are donating $1 from every brownie sold to the Lynn Sage Foundation Chicago’s In Good Taste Campaign, which has partnered with over 200 local restaurants to raise funding for breast cancer research.
