On April 17, 2018, Michigan Avenue magazine celebrated the official kick-off of Ashore Thing 2018 with an intimate reception at The Hampton Social. Guests sipped signature Maker's Mark cocktails and Peroni while enjoying beef sliders and woodfire pizzas. Now in its seventh year, Michigan Avenue's Ashore Thing event, presented by Wintrust and located at the east end of Navy Pier, will toast the parade of boats that begins the week-long journey to Mackinac Island during the Chicago Yacht Club's Race to Mackinac.
