ArtEdge: Celebrating Virgil Abloh

| June 8, 2019 | Parties

The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago saluted its summer blockbuster exhibition, Virgil Abloh: “Figures of Speech,” with an exclusive fete on June 8, 2019. More than 650 guests—including notable names like Takashi Murakami, Chance the Rapper, Samir Bantal, Joel Edgerton and more—turned out to toast the artist on the special night, which fetched $2 million for the institution. After mixing and mingling over cocktails in the Kovler Atrium and previewing the exhibition, guests sat for dinner in the museum’s stunningly accoutred parking garage. An after-party boasting a special performance by Dev Hynes capped the night.
