HOME 'HOOD "I live in Lincoln Park with my husband, Brian, our two children and a dog. I grew up in Kideer, a northwest suburb of Chicago, but have called Lincoln Park home for the past 20 years after spending four years in New York. We enjoy all the nearby restaurants and parks, and I love that it's only a quick run to the lake, but also conveniently located to our offices in the West Loop, as well as a short drive to O'Hare given my frequent business trips."
GO-TO SPOT "There's a saying, 'You can't buy happiness, but you can buy sushi, which is the same thing.' There are some wonderful sushi restaurants in the city, but my go-to spot is Mirai Sushi(2020 W. Division St.) in Wicker Park, and they also have a locations in the Gold Coast. Between sports activities and events, it can be tricky to find time in our family's schedule for dinners out, but their take-out is so easy, and the sushi is always delicious. I've also been a fan of chef Macku Chan for many years and am excited to try his new restaurant Komo(738 W. Randolph St.) in the West Loop."
LOOKING FORWARD TO MOST "I grew up playing piano and was classically trained, so one of my favorite things to do every summer is to go to CSO concerts at Ravinia(201 Ravinia Park Road, Highland Park). I've been an Associate and Women's Board member at Ravinia for many years, and whether you enjoy classical music, country or rock, there's something for everyone. While I love planning picnics to be enjoyed under the stars, other times we just show up and eat at one of the restaurants and sit in the pavilion."
CURRENT OBSESSION "Lately, I've been embracing color much more than I ever used to. Due to the industry I work in, I am fortunate to always be surrounded by colorful items such as artwork and handbags, but I've also been trying to incorporate more pops of color into my own wardrobe. I can't seem to stop reaching for the Veronica Beard (11 E. Walton St.) blazers in my closet, particularly when I'm traveling as they as easy to pack. I can't wait to wear one that I just purchased in lilac."
