Pilsen’s eco-friendly a.salon debuts a second luxe location in Lincoln Park.
The new location features a.salon’s signature circular mirrors.
Husband-and-wife duo Rudy and Amy Moser have grown a loyal clientele since opening a.salon in Pilsen in 2018. Now, they’re ready to tackle a new market as they open the doors to their second space in Lincoln Park. “[Clients from] Lincoln Park and the surrounding neighborhoods, like River North, the Gold Coast and Lakeview, were not regularly visiting Pilsen,” says Rudy, a Cosmetologists Chicago Board director, of the decision to set up shop in Lincoln Park.
“A.salon helps people achieve their hair goals, whether [it’s] a trending cut, fashion color or beautiful extensions,” says Amy. “No chemical nasties, just excellent, sustainable products.”
The new salon, located two blocks west of the Lincoln Park Conservatory, is situated inside a restored late-1800s building (as is its Pilsen sister salon), and features a French New Orleans vibe—a nod to where Amy was raised. Designed by Douglas Park architecture firm dwdw, the space features a.salon’s signature backlit circular mirrors at each stylist station, repurposed fixtures and an awning inspired by New Orleans’ famous Cafe Du Monde.
A.salon, a member of the Green Circle Salons environmental organization, also houses a range of eco-friendly inclusions that promote the brand’s commitment to sustainability, including tankless water heaters, high-efficiency appliances and Ecoheads showerheads. The team also recycles 95% of all salon byproducts, which includes hair, excess hair color, product packaging, and plastic and foils.
“Longtime a.salon clients have come to expect the highest-quality services,” Rudy shares. Case in point: It was included in Salon Today’s 2023 class of Salon 200, the top 200 salons in North America. A second location and national recognition have elevated a.salon on the city’s beauty scene, and as for their next move, Rudy hints that they’re always on the lookout for their next business venture or collaboration. “Our goal is simple,” Rudy concludes. “We are here to make your day.” 2326 N.
